Fire up your Mac Terminal and type the following:
git --version
Then hit enter. If you have it, it will show your current version. If you don’t, it will return a message similar to “command not found”

If you don’t have Git, you can download it from the official website and download the version for your operating system (Windows, Mac or Linux).
